Brass Copper Bronze Mumbai, since 1963
A South Indian coffee filter is two stacked metal cups that make coffee decoction. Grounds go in the perforated upper cup, hot water is poured over, and the decoction drips into the cup below. The coffee is served in a tumbler set in a davara, a wide bowl, and poured between the two to cool and froth it. A Turkish coffee pot (cezve) is a small, long-handled pot in which coffee is boiled and poured.

Choose a filter by decoction volume, not by “cups”. Buyers often find filters smaller than expected, so ask for the ml for each size number. The perforations decide how slowly the decoction drips, and the press disc spreads the grounds evenly. Check the seams, since thin joints can split. A café can add the stand-and-tap set. The Turkish coffee pot (cezve) is a separate method, boiled on the flame.
