Choose a copper water bottle by its true capacity in ml, its wall thickness and its cap. Fill one to the brim and compare the ml with the label. Press the body: thin walls flex under the thumb. Fill, close and hold it upside down for a minute; a good cap does not weep. Copper darkens inside with use. That is oxidation, not a sign of fake copper. Use plain water at room temperature only, never hot, lemon or flavoured water.
