About this product

A deg is a large, heavy metal cooking pot. Ring Deg is the name we give this brass deg.

Caterers, biryani kitchens and wedding and community kitchens use degs for dum biryani, haleem, pulao and rice in quantity. For dum, the lid is sealed with dough so the food cooks in its own steam.

Brass needs kalai (a tin lining) inside before any cooking; sour and salty food react with the bare metal. Your quotation confirms whether the piece comes tinned.
