HV468 is a handmade kansa wati with a polished finish. A wati is the Marathi name for a katori. Kansa (bronze) is bell metal, an alloy of copper and tin, and it rings when struck.
Set it on a kansa thali for dal, sabzi, kheer or rice. The polished finish gives a pale-gold shine, which suits gifting and festive tables. HV469 is the same handmade wati without the polish.
Wash kansa by hand, dry it at once and polish it with tamarind or pitambari. It is hard but brittle, so a fall on stone can crack it. Keep it out of the dishwasher.
Also called kansa katori, polished kansa bowl, bronze katori.
