About this product
HV362 is a handmade kansa thali in our Maharaja design. Maharaja is HV's design name. Kansa (bronze) is bell metal, an alloy of copper and tin. It is harder than either metal alone and rings when struck.
Use it for festive meals and guests, with kansa watis for each dish. Eating from kansa is traditional in Bengal and Odisha, where kansa tableware is also a customary wedding gift. HV352 is the Maharaja thali in brass.
Wash kansa by hand, dry it at once and polish it with tamarind or pitambari. It is hard but brittle, so a fall on stone can crack it. Keep it out of the dishwasher.
