About this product

HV360 is a handmade thali in kansa. Kansa (bronze) is bell metal, an alloy of copper and tin. It is harder than either metal alone and rings when struck. A thali is the round plate on which a whole meal is served, with katoris set on it.

Eating from kansa is traditional in Bengal and Odisha, and kansa tableware is a customary wedding gift in Odisha. Use it for daily meals with kansa watis, or keep it for festivals and guests. HV465 is the polished version.

Wash kansa by hand, dry it at once and polish it with tamarind or pitambari. It is hard but brittle, so a fall on stone can crack it. Keep it out of the dishwasher.
