About this product

A patiya is a round-bellied pot with a wide mouth, shaped much like a handi. HV515 is hammered brass polished bright, shown with a rimmed lid and a turned knob.

The lid keeps in steam for slow-cooked dal, curries and rice, and the polished body can go straight to the table. It suits a family kitchen, a restaurant or a gift.

Brass needs kalai, a tin lining, inside for cooking. Polish the outside with tamarind or lemon, then rinse and dry.
