About this product

A patiya is a round-bellied copper pot with a broad, flared rim, shaped much like a handi. HV237 is the heavy version, in heavier metal than our regular patiyas.

Heavier copper holds steady heat and stands up to long daily use in hotel and catering kitchens, as well as at home. Cook curries, dal and rice in it.

For cooking, copper needs kalai, a tin lining, inside. Never heat a tinned pot empty, and re-tin when copper shows through.
