About this product

HV235 is a patiya: a round-bellied copper pot with a broad, flared rim, shaped much like a handi. It is hammered copper inside and out.

Copper heats evenly, which suits curries, dal and rice cooked slowly. It works on a home stove, in a restaurant kitchen, or for serving at a buffet.

Copper needs kalai (a tin lining) inside before any cooking; sour and salty food react with the bare metal. Clean the outside with tamarind or lemon.
