About this product

A parat is a large, round metal dish with a raised edge, made for kneading atta (dough). HV251 is a copper parat with an etched pattern on its surface.

Besides kneading, a parat carries and serves food in quantity. An etched parat is also kept for occasions: it holds sweets, fruit or gifts at weddings and pooja, and makes a wedding gift.

Dough is not sour, but copper reacts with sour and salty food. For other food, have the parat tinned with kalai (tin lining). Polish with tamarind or lemon.

Also called paraat, tambe ki parat, copper parat.
