About this product

A chai top is a small tope (patila) for brewing tea. HV220 is hammered brass with a flared rim and a long handle: a steel shank riveted to the pot, finished with a wooden grip.

Boil milk, water, tea leaves and spices together, then pour from the rim. It suits a home stove, an office canteen or a café's tea counter.

Wash and dry it after each use. For anything sour or salty, brass needs kalai, a tin lining. Clean the outside with tamarind or lemon.

Also called chai patila, brass tea pan, brass saucepan.
