HV474 is brass, with a round belly, a narrower neck and a flared rim. It is hammered and polished bright outside, and tinned with kalai inside.

Cook biryani, pulao, dal and curries in it; the lid can be sealed with dough for dum. Homes, restaurants and caterers all use this shape.

Never heat it empty, because tin melts at about 232 °C. Re-tin when brass shows through.
