A patili is a small patila, the wide-mouthed cooking pot. This is a copper cover made to sit on such a pot; the brass cover is HV121.

Use it to cover milk, dal or rice as they cook, or to keep food warm before serving. It also replaces a lost or dented lid on a copper patili.

Copper darkens with use. Clean it with tamarind or lemon and salt, then dry it.
