About this product

A lagan is a wide, shallow cooking vessel. Our Parampara lagan is hammered brass, with a broad rounded body, a matching domed lid and a ribbed knob. Parampara, 'tradition', is our design name.

Restaurants cook dum dishes in it and bring it to the table in the same vessel. Caterers set it on buffet counters, and homes use it for biryani, pulao and slow-cooked curries.

Brass needs kalai (a tin lining) inside before any cooking; sour and salty food react with the bare metal. Your quotation confirms whether the piece comes tinned.
