About this product

A lota is a small, round metal water pot. This round one is made from rolled brass sheet, with a hammered body, a short neck and a cup-shaped lid that sits over the neck like an upturned tumbler.

It holds drinking water by the bed or on a table, and water for pooja and wedding rites. A covered brass lota is also a common wedding and housewarming gift.

Lotas for drinking water need no lining, but keep anything sour out of bare brass. Hand-wash, dry, and polish with tamarind or lemon.
