About this product

A donga is a deep serving bowl, much like a tureen. HV470 is a kansa donga with a rounded, handi-like body and a flat, flanged lid with a knob. The photograph shows a soft satin finish.

Bring dal, sabzi, rice or kheer to the table and keep it covered while the meal goes on. It comes in 500 ml (HV470), 700 ml (HV471) and 1200 ml (HV472). Homes, restaurants and caterers who serve on kansa use the three sizes together.

Wash kansa by hand, dry it at once and polish it with tamarind or pitambari. It is hard but brittle, so a fall on stone can crack it. Keep it out of the dishwasher.
