HV57 is the plain ubha dabba, in sizes 1 to 5.

Keep rice, dal, atta, sugar or tea in it on the kitchen shelf. Graded sizes let you keep staples in the large tins and tea or spices in the small. Families also give a set at weddings and house-warmings.

Bare brass suits dry goods. Salt, tamarind and pickle traditionally go in kalai-lined (tinned) brass. Wipe dry, and polish with tamarind or lemon when it dulls.
