About this product

HV361 is a kansa dinner set, listed as Set Pure. Kansa (bronze) is bell metal, an alloy of copper and tin. It is harder than either metal alone and rings when struck. A kansa dinner set brings the thali together with matching pieces such as katoris, a glass and a spoon. The quotation lists the pieces in this set.

Eating from kansa is traditional in Bengal and Odisha, and kansa tableware is a customary wedding gift in Odisha. Families buy sets like this for daily meals, for festivals and for a bride's trousseau.

Wash kansa by hand, dry it at once and polish it with tamarind or pitambari. It is hard but brittle, so a fall on stone can crack it. Keep it out of the dishwasher.

Also called kansa dinner set, kansa thali set, bronze dinner set.
