About this product

A lota is a small, round-bodied metal water pot. HV460 is made in kansa, the bell-metal bronze of copper and tin, which is pale gold and rings when struck. Satari is the name we list it under.

A kansa lota holds drinking water at meals and water for pooja. Kansa is a customary wedding gift in Odisha, and a lota sits well in a kansa set.

Hand-wash and dry at once, and polish with tamarind or pitambari. Kansa is hard but brittle, so it can crack if dropped.

Also called kansa lota, bell metal lota, bronze lota.
