About this product

A low, round pickle pot, hammered outside. The top is open in the centre, so the pickle inside shows. A small spoon rests in a slot cut in the side.

Set it on the dining table for the day's achar, or on a restaurant thali counter. It also suits a gift of home-made pickle.

Pickle is sour and salty. Traditionally it goes only into brass lined with kalai (tin), never bare brass. The inside of this pot is silver-toned; the quotation confirms its lining.
