About this product

HV518 is a tapered dabba: wide at the base and narrowing towards a polished band below the lid. The body is hammered, and the flat lid has a small knob. Sizes are S (HV518) and B (HV519).

The wide base keeps it steady on a shelf. Use it for tea, sugar, dry fruit or snacks, and for a gift.

Bare brass suits dry goods. Salt, tamarind and pickle traditionally go in kalai-lined (tinned) brass. Wipe dry, and polish with tamarind or lemon when it dulls.
